From Pressconnects.com:
This is BU’s first appearance on the best-value list. A similar publication, Kiplinger’s, rated BU as the best value for out-of-state students in 2009. For in-state students, BU ranked seventh.
Even with a recently implemented $620 annual tuition increase, an in-state student would spend about $68,000 for four years of tuition and housing at BU. At comparable private schools, that figure would be $186,000 — a $118,000 difference, according to the BU Web site.

This was delivered to my school email this morning:
During the past week, several people on campus have reported seeing a bear and a bear cub in the area of the Nature Preserve. People should remain alert while walking in the woods.
There is no cause for alarm.
Bears are docile by nature and tend to avoid contact with people. The Department of Environmental Conservation recommends that anyone who encounters a bear should remain calm and slowly leave the area in the direction they came from.
Do not run, as this may startle the bear. Any sightings of a bear on campus should be reported to the University Police at 777-2393 or 911 from an on-campus phone.
Watch out for ‘em!
U.S. officials have delivered a note to the Serbian government, with demands that Kovacevic, who fled to Serbia after posting $100k bail for felony assault charges, be returned to the U.S. within 10 days.
The note comes after warnings from NY senators Chuck Schumer and Hillary Clinton who told the Serbian Embassy ”that there would be significant consequences for Serbia if this matter was not resolved.”
An excerpt from the note reads:
“It is imperative that the [Serbian government] remedy these outrageous actions committed by its official representative, Igor Milosevic, and ensure the immediate return of Miladin Kovacevic to the United States for further legal proceedings and trial, not later than Aug. 1, 2008.”
